MAHARAGAMA SRI LANKA
Honorable MentionThe client, a childhood friend a prominent metal sculptor artist recognized within both local and international art communities. His dominant character and expressive art style resonate through his works, which often explore themes of human anatomy, nature, animals, and abstract forms. Working with both local and foreign clients and galleries, he predominantly uses steel, copper, and wood to create visually captivating, messy, and sketchy sculptures. The project aims to provide both a residence and an art studio that complements his creative spirit and works. The site is located very close to the urban area of Maharagama, surrounded by lush vegetation and large green trees. The design of the building was focused on respecting the existing natural environment. All the trees on the site were preserved, and the structure is nestled within the greenery without disrupting the balance of nature and the natural eco system surrounding. The main feature of the design is to create a green heaven amidst the urbanscape to provide the client the maximum free space to work on his trade. The dialogue between the natural context and the architecture is purposely done so the building merges seamlessly to the elements. The design is an orchestration of elements and providing homage to the materials. A thoughtful play of light within the space enhances the intangible qualities of the design. The final result is a balanced integration of built and unbuilt spaces, creating a serene environment for both living and artistic creation.

And we want our creativity to be the backdrop for your memories that will be remarkable forever" It is not merely to design the natural or built environment; we love to take one through the journey of creating the spaces in mind. It gives great pride to see our clients enjoy the design process as much as we do and live in these spaces when they become a reality.
